Privacy Policy — ThinkIt Parallels

Last updated: 2026-05-20

ThinkIt ("we", "our", the data controller) operates the Parallels game ("the App"). This page explains what data the App collects, how we use it, the legal basis for using it, and the rights you have — including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Parallels has no user accounts and collects no data that identifies you personally.

What we collect

Anonymous device identifier. When you first open Parallels, the App generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. We send this ID with anonymous play results so we can aggregate cross-player statistics without knowing who you are. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other personal data.

Play results. The puzzle ID, number of mistakes, whether you solved it, duration in seconds, and the age cohort(s) and difficulty level(s) you selected. We use this to compute the "across all players" distribution shown on the win screen and to monitor puzzle quality.

Feedback you submit. If you use the in-app feedback feature, we store your thumbs up/down rating, any free-text comment you write, which puzzle you were viewing, the pool (daily or unlimited), and your anonymous device ID. Please do not include personal information (your name, email, etc.) in the free-text comment — it is not needed and we ask you not to. We use feedback only to improve the puzzles and the game.

Subscription status (if applicable). If you purchase a subscription, Apple shares with us only that an active subscription exists for your device — not your Apple ID or any other Apple account information.

What we do NOT collect

Advertising

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads only — ads are not tailored to you using a cross-app advertising identifier, so the App shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt. AdMob still processes limited data (such as coarse, non-identifying signals and your approximate region) to serve and measure non-personalized ads.

EEA / UK users: on first launch we show a Google-certified consent message (Google's User Messaging Platform). Ads are only requested if and as permitted by your consent choice; if you decline, you simply will not see ads. Paid subscribers see no ads at all. AdMob's own privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy

How we use the data, and our legal basis

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with third parties beyond AdMob's standard ad-serving role.

Data retention & deletion

Anonymous play results and feedback are retained for aggregate analytics. You can request deletion of the data associated with your device at any time: open Settings → About & Privacy in the App to view your anonymous device ID, then email it to us (below) and we will delete the play results and feedback tied to that ID. If you uninstall the App, the device ID is gone and any future plays generate a new one.

Your rights (EEA, UK & California)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of data about you, to restrict or port it, and (in the EEA/UK) to withdraw consent for ads at any time or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because our data is anonymous and tied only to a device-generated ID, the practical way to exercise these rights is to send us that device ID (see above) and tell us what you would like done. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

Children

Parallels is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, and we serve only non-personalized ads.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy materially, we will note the change here and update the "Last updated" date above.
